New Summer Program Set For Young Golfers
Young golfers have the chance to continue
competition and hone their skills through a new,
inexpensive summer program launched by a
Huntsville youth golf organization.
Play on the North Alabama Junior Golf Tour
during June, July and August will be on some of
the better courses in the area. Included will be
six qualifying rounds and five tournament rounds.
The players will compete in age flights: 12-13,
14-15, 16-19. Organizers hope there will be
enough girls to register for their own flight.
Cost to participants is $350 for season play (a
savings of $25) with $75 going for membership
and $55 each for qualifying rounds. Early bird
registration on or before April 30, 2010 is
$325.00. Tournament
rounds are free.
The program is being directed by a number of
area golf professionals under the sponsorship of
the Huntsville Metropolitan Youth Golf
Foundation. Tour applications have been provided
to area golf courses and coaches.
